This is the nth time I’ve tried to start a blog, so hopefully this one will stick.

I think I’m special. Why? My mother told me so.
Just kidding — she’s never said that to me.
I like to think I have a different perspective on things because of my interesting upbringings.

I’m a first-generation, Filipino-American, born and raised in Hawai’i.
This already says a lot. My identity has always been important to me, and I spend a lot of time thinking about how it affects/affected me.

Right after high school, I left the islands to spend my undergrad years on the East Coast (Boston, MA & Poughkeepsie, NY). I spent a semester abroad in London, England.
People from Hawai’i don’t usually choose this path, but I did, and I don’t regret it.

Immediately after college, I went back to Hawai’i for a year and married the love of my life: a former Marine.
Being a MilSO (Military Significant Other) is a difficult and different world that only the involved really understand. I love to find others that can relate to the struggle with me.

My MBTI personality type is INFJ.
When I found this out, I suddenly felt like I made sense, even though INFJs don’t really make sense.

I currently reside in San Diego, CA and there are many things that I still need to figure out — career, future plans, who I am, etc.
To be honest, this space is more or less a diary that will teach me commitment and self-discovery.

Thanks for stopping by!
